What We Do

At Peak Prairie Dogs LLC, we specialize in burrowing rodent control. Based in Mancos, we know the impact these critters can have on your farm, yard, livestock, or business so we are here to manage the issue. Newly formed in 2022, we are eager to assist Southwest Colorado in mitigation with the most effective and humane methods possible utilizing CO. Cortez, Durango, Dove Creek, Dolores, Bayfield, no matter your location, we have a solution.

How Does it Work?

With the PERC® (Pressurized Exhaust Rodent Control), pure exhaust (2.5% carbon monoxide, CO) is captured from a gas engine that powers an air compressor. The gasses are cooled, pressurized into air tanks, then injected into the burrow of a ground rodent. The air in the burrow is purged very quickly, engulfing the rodent almost immediately in a high concentration of exhaust gas. This prevents them from blocking the hole or escaping the burrow leading to asphyxiation by a lethal level of CO typically in the first several minutes.
The perk to the PERC® is that the exhaust is pressurized, delivering a quick and humane alternative to poisons, smokers, or slowly added exhaust by standard engine outputs.
